Turquoise Tail
The story, Turquoise Tail is about a glimpse of a myth that I grew up loving and imagined being. Like most young girls, mermaids were magical, beautiful creatures you always pretended to be and wanted to see.
As a child, Tessa Van Poele spent summers with her family exploring the West Coast on her father's sailboat. A lifetime of memories and adventures have been shared due to her love of the water and the islands around the Salish Sea.
Treasured Memories
There are many Gulf Islands in British Columbia's Pacific Northwest that are described in 'Treasured Memories'. She hopes to inspire people to get out and enjoy the Pacific Northwest and all the magical, hidden places it has to offer.
When Tessa Van Poele was a child, she explored the west coast on her father's sailboat with her family. Her love of the water and the islands in the Salish Sea has led to a lifetime of memories and adventures.
The Bowen Island Witch

'The Bowen Island Witch' recounts a true story from Tessa's childhood visit to Bowen Island with her extended family. This experience is a memory that is talked about often with her sisters, nephews and nieces.
Tessa Van Poele has been exploring the west coast during her summers ever since she was little. She has created numerous memories and gone on many adventures due to her love for the water and islands in the Salish Sea.
She hopes her experiences and stories inspire others to travel to the Gulf Islands and find the magic that fills her soul.

The Old White Haunted House
“The Old White Haunted House” is about an old farm house on Gambier Island dating back to 1934. Center Bay has been a special place for Tessa Van Poele and her family for over 30 years. Almost every summer she has spent at least a weekend there enjoying what Gambier Island and its coastline has to offer.
The House still stands (although empty) to this day.
